Carol Moseley Braun Endorsed by African Civic Action Network
February 16, 2011 - The African Civic Action Network (ACAN) is endorsing Mayoral candidate Carol Moseley Braun. ACAN represents a broad-based coalition of African community organizations and leaders in Chicago.
"It is particularly gratifying to have the endorsement of representatives of an entire continent,” said Senator Carol Moseley Braun. “ACAN represents people from 47 countries, all of whom are Chicagoans. I look forward to working with them as mayor to build on the rich diversity of our city.”
ACAN speaks for more than 50,000 African immigrant voters in Chicago and plans to energize its base in support of Sen. Braun.
Leaders of the Liberian, Ghanaian, Togolese, Nigerian, Beninese, Cameroonian, Sierra Leonean, Congolese, Tanzanian, Ugandan, Zimbabwean, Malian, Senegalese, Ivorian, Guinean, Ethiopian and many more African communities stood behind Ambassador Braun and Congressman Rush on February 13, 2011 to make the historic endorsement.
