Carol Moseley Braun's Statement of Appellate Court's Decision

January 24, 2011 -‐ -- The following statement was made by mayoral candidate Carol Moseley Braun following the decision issued by the Illinois Appellate Court on the mayoral election:

“Our campaign for mayor has always been about standing with all families in every neighborhood of this great city. Nothing about that has changed with today’s appellate court decision.

“Today’s decision is a major milestone for our campaign, but the decision doesn’t make one neighborhood safer, one senior more secure, one child better educated or give one unemployed person a job."

“Going forward, we pledge to work to create a city great enough to provide opportunity for every family. We have a chance to work together to move our city forward, helping every family in every neighborhood. But we can only do this together. Please log on and join the effort.

“I need the help of the people of Chicago. Our campaign is about changing what’s not working for so many families. I need the hard working people of Chicago to help. Log on to www.carolforchicago.com and make a donation, or sign up to volunteer.

“I am extending a hand of friendship to all the fine Chicagoans who have been supporting Rahm and all those that haven’t made up their minds yet. We all love this city and want to see it move forward. I hope that you will join me in this effort.”
